Over time, you will want to rejuvenate your chopping block or wood countertop to its previous condition. The two most common reasons to refinish your Craft Art tops are:
1. The top has scratches or has cut marks due to heavy wear and use. When you chip a granite, marble or quartz countertop, the repair process can yield finished results that are never as what the original product appeared. Unlike almost all other countertop materials, Craft Art wood countertops can be reconditioned to appear exactly as when you purchased them.
2. Some of the finish has rubbed off during the course of everyday use and cleaning. Generally speaking, it is time to refinish when the condensation from setting a cold drink on the top creates a faint discoloration (water ring). Depending on the amount of use, the typical amount of time that a top should be reconditioned is every one to three years.
To avoid any surface finish inconsistencies, re-finishing a Craft-Art top is best done by a professional. They will deep clean the top to prepare the surface for the fresh coat of protective finish, apply our special cross-linking tung oil and let it dry. Simply contact Craft Art or your local dealer to set up a maintenance appointment.
