Upgrades and Options

  • Distressing Option: Roughly 50% of Craft Art’s sales incorporate our Distressed Finish for our butcher block or wood countertops.  Our Distressed Finish is engineered to replicate what a wood countertop looks like in a European home after 15-20 years of “hard living”.  We purposefully introduce small dings, dents, burn marks, etc. onto the surface to provide that “lived in” look. Our Distressed Finish is so popular because it allows our wood countertop to instantly become a part of your home and allow the homeowner to cherish the memories of any nicks or dings their family may introduce into the countertop–precious memories of a growing and aging family.  The added benefit of being able to refurbish your wood countertop to a blemish-free surface is also available simply by sending your butcher block or wood countertop back to Craft Art for an overhaul.
  • Heat Rods/Set Down Bars: Give it a trivet! Add our set-down bars  to get ultimate heat resistance possible in your wood countertop or wood island. This option includes four stainless steel rods that are placed into a routed slot in your wood top and raised approximately 1/2″ from the surface. Without the set-down bar option, wood tops will have heat resistance similar to engineered stone/quartz and hot temperatures or long exposure to temperatures over 200 degrees F. is not recommended or covered by our warranty.
  • Drain Channels: Because Craft Art wood countertops and wood islands are waterproof due to our exclusive Tung Oil finish, they are perfect for use around sinks. Add Drain Channels to give an integrated solution to water cleanup by your undermount sink.
