You will need to consider the length that your countertop is unsupported over the cabinet in combination with the thickness of your countertop. An overhang is the distance the countertop extends from the front of the drawer, the door fronts, or the end panels. Your overhang can be anywhere from 3/4″ to 1-1/2″ depending on your cabinetry style in order to maintain functionality and best visual appearance.
In order to maintain your lifetime warranty of your wooden countertop, Craft Art requires the following for overhang design:
| Thickness of Craft Art Countertop | Maximum Length of Unsupported Overhang (unsupported distance from cabinet edge) | Warranty Requirement/Comments |
| Less than 1.5” | 10” | Any overhang greater than 10” must have support rods. |
| Greater than 1.5” | 12” | Any overhang greater than 12” must have support rods. |
