CRAFT-ART INC. OVERHAULS SAMPLING PROGRAM
New Samples are Lighter, Less Expensive
ATLANTA (January 18, 2011) – Craft-Art, Inc., a manufacturer of fine wood countertops and butcher blocks, has overhauled its sample program to offer lighter, less expensive samples to its network of distributors and kitchen and bath dealers.
Effective immediately, Craft-Art has standardized the size of its samples of countertop and butcher block wood species to 4 x 4-inches and 3/4-inches thick. Previously, samples were larger and thicker, which increased their weight and cost. Samples with an eased edge are now available for $2 each or $7 at a 5 x 7-inch size for custom samples with a specific edge profile. Reclaimed wood samples are also available in a 5 x 7-inch size for $20. Prices quoted are for the initial promotional period and are subject to change.
Also available is an easy-to-use merchandising box including 20 samples featuring both domestic and exotic wood species. The box itself features a unique design; the cover doubles as the display’s base. Eighteen of the samples are 4 x 4-inches and feature an eased edge profile. They include the following wood species: Bamboo Caramelized Plank, Beech Edge, Black Walnut Plank, Black Walnut End, Bubinga Plank, Canarywood Plank, Hard Maple Edge, Hickory Plank, Lyptus Plank, Maple/Black Walnut End, Sapele Mahogany Plank, Teak Plank, Wenge Edge, White Oak–Face Sawn–Plank, Zebra Edge, Reclaimed Beech–Plank, Reclaimed Chestnut and Reclaimed Pine–Plank. Also included are two larger 4 x 8-inch samples one of which is distressed (Black Walnut) and one (American Cherry) is not distressed for a clear side-by-side comparison of the different effect distressing has on edge profiles. The two larger samples demonstrate the Classical Ogee edge profile and how the edge profile appears differently when the material is distressed and when it is not. The price of the merchandising sample box is $75.
Samples are available for ordering at Craft-Art’s Web site, www.craft-art.com, through the dealer log-in. Consumers may also purchase samples directly from Craft-Art at its online store.
“Our new sample box is portable, easy to travel with and, at less than half the price of our previous sample box, very cost efficient,” says Brad Baker, director of sales for Craft-Art. “This change will allow our kitchen and bath dealers to better access and merchandise our samples for those customers looking for an alternative to granite and other synthetic countertop materials.”
